Buying Airless Sprayers from Overseas

Warning Regarding -

Buying Graco Wagner Airlessco or Titan airless sprayers direct from the USA

Airless Sprayers offered online, and particularly via Ebay, direct from the USA will be 110 volt 60 hz machines which are not compatible with Australian 240 volt 50 hz electrical supply or Australian wiring and safety standards.

There are even certain Ebay vendors claiming they have international models with dual voltage 110 volt / 220 volt which is misleading. Wagner, Graco, Titan and Airlessco have never manufactured dual voltage 110 / 220 volt airless sprayers. Airless Sprayers are one or the other voltage, not dual voltage.

Claimed dual voltage models are actually airless sprayers built for the US domestic market with 110 Volt 60 Hz motors, 110 Volt 60 Hz ancillary electrical components and US Standard 110 volt 60 Hz electrical wiring.

These claimed dual voltage airless sprayers  are in reality for USA use only and are fitted with an after market voltage transformer, or inverter, by these vendors in an attempt to reduce Australian 240 volt power supply to 110 volts to run these 110 volt 60 Hz machines.

110 volt 60 Hz airless sprayers are not manufactured for the Australian Market.

110 Volt 60 Hz imported airless sprayers have no Ctick certification and are not compliant with Australian Electrical Standards.

In many of these ebay ads for cheap airless sprayers such as Wagner Titan and Graco from overseas you may read the following claims;

  •     220 / 240 Volt!
  •     Exclusive 220 / 240 units
  •     220 / 240 Volt Data
  •     HEAVY DUTY LONG LIFE CONTINUOUS USE CONVERTER
  •     HARD WIRED CONVERTER WITH AUSTRALIAN 3 PRONG PLUG

Warranty

  • 3 years warranty is claimed 3 times in one ebay advert alone
  • 2 years warranty is claimed 4 times in the exact same ebay advert
  • "minimum 1 warranty" is even mentioned once, whatever that means?
  • Lifetime Warranty gets one mention in the very same ebay advert

Major airless sprayer manufacturers such as Graco/Airlessco and Wagner/Titan do not recognise any type of international warranty system here in Australia for 110 volt 60 Hz airless sprayers with the incorrect 110 voltage, incorrect 60 Hz frequency, and incorrect wiring and circuitry for Australia.

  • Call Wagner Australia on 1800 064 790 and ask Wagner
  • Call Graco Australia on 03 94688500 and ask Graco
  • Ask Graco or Wagner Australia if you will get any Australian warranty? - or any type of manufacturer warranty for a 110 volt 60 Hz electric airless sprayer that has been manufactured for US domestic use - then fitted with an inverter also destined for overseas use - then purchased and used in Australia?

Regardless of what any seller, including Ebay sellers, try to claim about international warranty, Airlessco, Wagner, Titan and Graco dealers can not perform or honour warranty for any airless sprayers that have not been officially imported and sold, as 240 volt  50Hz airless sprayers, through authorised distributors and retailers within Australia.

Ask these ebay vendors who the "well know Wagner, Titan, SprayTech, and Graco, dealer" in Australia actually is who "tested and hired out their machines for many months". We have had several customers ask these vendors who this dealer actually is and every one of these customers who have asked do not get an answer to the question!

To obtain proper manufacturer approved warranty repairs any 110 volt airless sprayers purchased direct from the USA 110 volt units will need to be returned to the USA for repair.

If the vendor is offering to send you any parts requiring replacement under warranty ask these questions;

  • How is a warranty case determined?
  • Who determines that it is actually a warranty case?
  • Is the actual purchaser expected to diagnose the fault, determine the parts required?
  • Is the actual purchaser expected to successfully fit these parts if they are actually supplied?
  • Claiming that "Over 500 sold with a 0% defect / return rate" possibly answers the above claims! and carries a warning that should be seriously considered.

We expect that if the manufacturer became aware that the 110 volt machine had been used with a transformer connected to Australian 240 volts that any electrical fault would not be covered by warranty and possibly the entire factory warranty would be void.

We apologise for not being able to help people in Australia who have been mislead into already purchasing 110 volt machines and have already experienced the problems with obtaining parts, warranty and proper servicing that come with buying 110 volt airless sprayers purchased direct from the USA.

We hope our warnings will save others from these ongoing problems in the future.

  • AA Spray in no way endorse these 110 volt 60 Hz airless sprayers from the USA for use in Australia.
  • AA Spray are not able to assist with servicing these machines either under warranty or otherwise, for obvious reasons.

Thank you for your understanding.
